'chYps’ offers a different approach to palliative and end of life care for children, young people and their families.
Instead of the child coming to the hospice, the hospice comes to them.
This allows the child and Mum, Dad, brothers and sisters to stay together.
In their own homes, we offer a seamless service of care for children and young people, age 0-19 years; working closely with a variety of care providers to provide chemotherapy, palliative care, end of life care and a wide range of other care and support services.
For young people entering adulthood, our Transition service helps them move smoothly into adult care.
We call this ‘Full Hospice Care’ - in the family’s own home. For however long is needed. And completely free.
‘chYps’ has been providing full hospice care to children, young people and their families in Bexley, Swanley, Dartford and Gravesham since 1994. In 2010 the service expanded to cover the whole of West Kent, including Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
